One Response to Our Beautiful, Fragile World: Exhibit, reception & lecture by top nature photographer Peter Essick

  1. Wolfgang Brauner says:

After contemplating Peter Essick’s recent photography and listening to his lecture, it seems to me it can best be summed up as the ambivalent aesthetics of the Anthropocene, though he used none of these terms. He vividly shows the beauty and the fragility of nature, which is all the more tragic now that more and more life on Earth struggles to survive due to humanity’s overshoot of carrying capacity and the resulting degradation of ecosystems and the 6th major extinction wave in the history of life on this planet.
