Universal Language: Love through Legend, Literature, and Life – An Opera

Friday, November 22, 2013, 7.30-9pm, FAC Recital Hall (free)

“Universal Language: Love through Legend, Literature, and Life”  is an end of the semester performance project for the students of the opera theater class. This semester, twelve voice majors of all voice types and ages have been learning stage skills necessary to be singing actors. This performance will utilize exercises and the skills they have been honing for the past 13 weeks. Each student will be singing an art song in either French, German, or Italian interspersed with poetry, text, or scripts. There will be twelve vignettes involving the whole ensemble connected by the variety of ways humans are connected or disconnected by love. (Dr. Liza Kelly, Assistant Professor of Music)
