Honors education as transformative learning

Given the various understandings of honors education, it might be fruitful to conceptualize it as transformative learning, which has the advantage of effectively weaving together several key strands running through the discussion on what constitutes honors education and excellent education more generally.

One particularly useful understanding of transformative learning defines it as combining learning for knowing, being and doing and fusing all three as learning for transformation. Another closely related understanding of transformative learning relates it to conceptual learning and the ‘Conceptual Age‘ more generally.

As the ‘Conceptual Age’ emerges, constructivist and experiential learning approaches become even more relevant and appropriate:

conceptual age, transformative learning, global education, honors education, global honors education

conceptual age, constructivism, transformative learning, global education, honors education, global honors education
