The Bowling Green International Festival will take place on September 29, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. There are many ways in which community members and students can participate in this enriching experience. Details about the festival can be found here.
Ways to participate include:
- Volunteering at the event – Detailed information about available shifts and their associated duties as well as a form to sign up for a shift can be found by clicking “Volunteer” at the top of any page on our website. 250 volunteers are needed for jobs from helping children make craft projects to cleaning up the site. Many of these are filled each year by students of teachers who offer extra credit opportunities for their students.
- Hosting a booth at the event – Individuals, families, organizations and businesses set up booths at the festival that include cultural displays, activities, merchandise and food. If you are looking for a fundraiser for an organization, food in particular is very popular. Or, if you would just like to help enhance the festival, consider representing the culture of a foreign country or including edu-tainment activities. Details about all types of booths can be found by clicking “Boothspace” at the top of any page of our website.
- Helping to promote the festival – Even if you are unavailable festival day you can help by spreading awareness of the event. Follow our page on Facebook and encourage your students and online friends to do the same. You can find a variety of promotional materials to share on our website by clicking on “Promote Us” at the top of any page and more will be added later. You can print a letter size poster to hang on your office door, community bulletin boards or the windows of your favorite businesses. There are also web versions to post on your social networking pages or blog. One which may be of particular interest is a coupon that allows two people admission for $5 (regular price is $4 each, children under 12 are free). You are welcome to email it or print copies for all your colleagues, students, friends and family (and encourage them to do the same for theirs).
